Careers

Qualifications of Administrative Staff and Teachers

  • “Native speaker” is defined as any person who has both resided continually from early childhood to adulthood in, and holds a passport from: the UK, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa.

  • English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers shall have at least a bachelor’s degree in English, applied linguistics, modern languages, or TESOL. A bachelor’s degree in any other field may be combined with a teaching certificate (CELTA) or diploma (DELTA) or MA-TESOL, plus substantial experience as an ESL teacher. All English teachers shall have at least 4 years of ESL teaching experience in an EFL setting. Non-native speakers shall have at least any of the following minimum scores:


i. IELTS: 6.5
ii. TOEFL internet-based: 92
iii. TOEFL paper-based: 580
iv. TOEFL computer-based: 237

  • Content/Curriculum developers shall be native English speakers and meet the minimum qualifications listed at Section 4.b. They should have a substantial familiarity with

​

i. the learning styles and culture of Gulf Arab students,

ii. technical terminology, especially of the oil industry,
iii. assessment methods and test construct validity,
iv. advanced software skills for editing (MS Word) and presentation (MS PowerPoint).

  • Mathematics teachers must have a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field. (A master’s degree is preferred). Non-native speakers should also have minimum English proficiency described in Section 4.b.

  • All Math teachers shall have at least 4 years of Mathematics teaching experience. Teaching experience in an EFL setting is preferred.

  • f. Coordinators, senior teachers, and principals shall meet the minimum qualifications listed in Section 4.b or 4.d. Alternative qualifying degrees include education or school administration. Additionally, an excellent command of spoken and written English is required and basic proficiency in spoken and written Arabic is desirable. Minimum ESL or mathematics teaching and/or administrative experience shall be as follows

i. Coordinators, 4 years
ii. Senior teachers, 8 years
iii. Principals, 10 years

  • Administrative support and clerical staff shall meet the following minimum requirements:

​

i. Saudi national.
ii. Graduate or degree-holder from a technical institute or equivalent.
iii. Four (4) years of experience in the clerical and administrative field.
iv. Ability to type in English.
v. Ability to speak, write, prepare presentations, and communicate in English.

  • Trainee Counsellors

​

i. Saudi national.
ii. Minimum Diploma Degree holder
iii. Excellent in English and Arabic
iv. Excellent in Microsoft Office
v. 2 years of experience preferably in Educational or HR roles
